Hotstart Battery Thermal Wraps prolong battery life and improve cranking power in the coldest conditions. Batteries lose their ability to provide full cranking power in temperatures lower than 80 °F (27 °C). In freezing temperatures, a battery can only provide 65% of its full cranking power, and in extreme weather, an unheated battery's cranking power may fall to 40% or lower. Battery heating wraps can boost cranking power up to 75%. 

Hotstart wraps come in two modifications: 

• with a 60-80F (16-27C) thermostat: BW models;
• without a thermostat: KBW models. 

Wraps with the thermostat are UL Recognized. Wraps without the thermostat and Euro wraps for Schuko plug are not UL Recognized. 

All wraps have a durable, fire-retardant vinyl cover that resists oils and acids. The wraps are available in multiple lengths to fit different battery sizes without excessive overlap or exposed, unheated sections. Please note that maximum allowable overlap is 10” (25 cm).

If a battery is placed inside a case or box, HOTSTART recommends a minimum clearance of 1.5” (38 mm) between battery and enclosure wall.

Adjustable strap and a buckle are included for securing the wrap around the battery. However, power cord is sold separately. All wraps come with a 9" (229 mm) pigtail with a 3-pin connector for adapting to a NEMA or Schuko plug.
